In order to get a work-at-home job, I need a good enough PC. My current one was $250 at Staples 3 years ago. I think it is time I upgraded. My old one's CPU isn't 'powerful enough (its 2.4 GHz single).

This is what I am scoping out: http://www.walmart.com/ip/CyberPower-GU ... iewedItems

I know its Wal-Mart, but for the price, I do not think I can argue. Good for the job, and gaming. Just been wanting to get some thoughts from ppl. Thanks.

It's decent for most games, however don't expect to be playing Bad Company 2 or BF3 or any other games that would be processor intensive. I had built a friend a cheap computer, it had a dual core AMD and the MSI Hawk Radeon 5770 in it and it would stutter for around 15mins because of the CPU lag when playing bad company 2. But other games should play just great.

and that is a decent price.

If your the type that can build a PC, you might save some money using some parts you already have. IE: hard drive/case/etc

I have zilch for HD's, only other PC was last updated in 2001.

The main thing would be I'd be updating parts constantly. This model is known for the ability to change out parts, and the fact it is a ASUS board.

Well, would waiting a little bit longer, saving up some more, then building your own PC be a way to go? I just don't know about wal-mart sometimes ^.^

Its not bad, I think you can get a better PC for that money. Or at least better value. Like Brent said, the CPU will limit you from the get-go. Its not good to start that low.
I would by this one:

And put in a graphics card of $80-100 That will be way faster than your current choice.

New PC, since that one went up $100.

http://www.staples.com/HP-Pavilion-p7-1 ... a=CIRCULAR

When I get this work at home job, my friend gets cash for me referring him, $300, and we are going to split it. So, a new graphics card, or a monitor. Most likely a monitor, all depends on how well this one does. I know I will upgrade, all matters if i want to do it immediately, or wait a month.

Quad-Core, 6GB of RAM, and a 1TB hd. Not bad for $400.

I checked the link, yes yes, tis is the much better choice.
Good thing you've waited and looked around. $150 should be enough to buy you a high end gfx card, say HD 6870 or GTX 560!
